https://youtu.be/pnaURK0GM_g?si=6nYosqDrUgruiPkD Turrican (1990), Turrican II: The Final Fight (1991) and Turrican 3 (1993) main themes by Chris Hülsbeck. This upload is intended for headphones only. Why revisited? Read more below... So i remade these using the channel/instrument repositioning gimmick. To me it sounded so good that i wanted to share the result. I'll keep the old Dolby uploads in my channel. You can compare these new ones against them if nothing else. Turrican II and 3 will sound a bit less wide due to 2 channels being only 50% panned left/right (the other two 100%, so nothing in dead center). First Turrican has the basic 100% left/right and dead center config. The reason for Turrican II and 3 channel config is WinUAE. I happened to try channel mode "4 channels" there to see if the internal wave recorder then records a 4 channel wave file. Well it did, and to my surprise it also still outputs audio into normal stereo headphones (i thought you needed quad channel setup to listen to 4 channel mode in WinUAE). The output to headphones sounded different against "stereo" mode - better (probably depends on track). It was clearly repositioning 2 channels in the stereo field in a non 100% way, despite me using 100% stereo separation option. I'm sure the repositioning i'm using in this upload is not quite the same, but it's very very close to WinUAE's way of doing 4 channel mode.
